Alghero and the Riviera del Corallo
The Coral Riviera, so called because of the many formations of red coral in its own waters and used to create beautiful jewelry, is located in the northwestern part of Sardinia and comprises most of the 90 kilometers of beautiful coast of Alghero. This region consists of stunning coves, often difficult to access, wide beaches of white sand and golden, as the beach Le Bombarde, Porto Ferro and the beach of Porticciolo, and fascinating rock formations like those typical of the coast of Capo Caccia, we should not miss the famous caves of Neptune. The beaches of the Coral Coast are surrounded by dense vegetation that usually comes just a few meters from the waterline to which meander through small trails leading down to the sea. The elegant seaside town fortified taste all Catalan, legacy of Spanish rule, which began in 1353 and ended in 1720, has a beautiful old town crossed by narrow streets overlooked by colorful historic buildings and shops of handicraft.
The San Giovanni beach is right just a few meters from our hotel and is known for its clear sand and its crystal clear water.
